Updated: Feb 16

Welcome to the twenty-first in our series of team interviews. Each month, we’ll be asking a member of our team to tell us more about them and their involvement with rradar. This month, it’s time to hear about rradarstation Employment Law Advisor Kiri Thompson.
How and when did you first become involved with rradar?
I joined rradar in September 2017 as an Employment Law Advisor within the rradarstation team.
Who/what was the biggest influence on your decision to work at rradar?
Prior to my interview, I had read many articles about rradar and the services we deliver. I was very impressed by the success of rradar, the organisation’s mission and values and their substantial investments in technology.
What was your first impression of the company?
It’s a very forward-thinking organisation. I was very impressed by the modern working environment rradar has invested in for their employees, and the technology we use such as rradargrace and the rradarstation website.
What have you found to be the most surprising/challenging aspect of working for rradar?
The most surprising aspect, by no means challenging, has been how nice everyone is at rradar! People genuinely care about their colleagues and go the extra mile to support one another. We are all very passionate about working for rradar, the service we deliver for our clients and what we represent overall as an organisation.
What would you tell someone who is thinking about working for rradar?
Do it! Come and join us on this amazing journey here at rradar. You won’t regret it!
How do you see rradar developing over the next five years?
rradar is growing at a rapid pace and we can all see wonderful things being forecast for the organisation which will bring many opportunities for everyone working here. I feel very lucky to be a member of the team here during such an exciting time for the company.
If you weren't working for rradar, what would you be doing instead?
I would be working within HR and Employment Law, and attending university. However, I know I could never be as happy as I am here at rradar, as this is the best role I have ever held.
How would someone describe you?
I would like to think that people would describe me as being good natured, a people person and a good listener.
Surprise us with a little-known fact about you
I am a part-time student on the MSc in Human Resource Management programme at Hull University.
A little-known fact about me is that I once completed an abseil down the Grimsby Dock Tower to raise much-needed funds for our local hospice.
What inspires you that you think other people should know?
I am very passionate about Employment Law and HR matters. My motivation and drive are founded upon my natural desire to help people. It is such a great feeling knowing that you have helped someone in need.
What do you do when you aren't working?
When I’m not working I like to spend time relaxing with family and friends. I also have a Labrador puppy who I spend lots of my free time walking and training.
You’re on a desert island and you can take one album, one book and one film with you. What do you take?
