rradar attends Leeds Beckett University legal careers event
Updated: Feb 16
Thursday 31st January saw rradar at a Spotlight on: Legal Careers event at Leeds Beckett University.
The ‘Spotlight on’ series is intended to enable students to connect with employers in a more informal setting, with a focus on a particular sector or industry area where there is significant demand for graduates.
The two aims of the session were to develop sector knowledge and highlight career opportunities, showcasing the career paths and opportunities within the sector.
Over 100 students from all years of the LLB course attended as well as students who are currently studying towards their LPC.
The Panel was made up of representatives of four law firms including rradar’s HR Manager Andrea Wilby and answered questions from students.
This was followed by an informal networking session in which the panellists went into more detail on graduate opportunities.
Employment Engagement Consultant Michael Hall said “Some truly inspiring stories and lots of excellent advice for students getting ready to take their next steps after university.”
Attendees had very positive comments to make on the session:
“Very insightful once again, hearing about the different careers and ways you can enter into the legal profession. It is always good to hear the different routes individuals have taken and their advice.”
“…gave me a big insight into what’s available and inspired me with hearing people’s stories about the legal route or having an alternative route into the legal profession.”
Summing up the session, Andrea said
“There were some great questions from the students. Hopefully our answers gave them an insight in to the different roles within law firms that their law degrees could aid them to aim for, along with information around the traditional routes. rradar looks forward to meeting Leeds Beckett University students across the year at the various initiatives the university has planned.”
