rradar strengthening team with Information Law specialist

We are proud to announce the key appointment of senior solicitor David Sinclair, who will lead our Information Law team. David will advise our fast-expanding list of private, public and charity sector clients on all aspects of data protection, electronic communications and marketing, freedom of information and environmental information law.
In particular, David will advise data controllers and data processors on compliance requirements arising from the GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, as well as the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and associated legislation.
David joins us from The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, a leading cancer treatment, research and teaching hospital in Manchester, where he served as in-house counsel. Prior to joining The Christie, David worked at leading healthcare law firm Hempsons, which he joined on qualification as a solicitor in 2005. While at Hempsons, David advised and represented NHS trusts, charities, private sector companies and individuals being investigated in relation to a range of regulatory breaches or, who were prosecuted for regulatory offences. David also advised boards and senior managers on their statutory/regulatory obligations.
In addition to being qualified as a solicitor, David has a BSc. (Hons) in Occupational Health and Safety, a Post Graduate Diploma from University of Durham in Environmental Management and Practice, together with a Masters of Laws degree in Information Law and Practice. David is currently a post-graduate researcher at Northumbria University, whose PhD thesis is entitled ‘AI-powered data mining for genomic and biomedical research: Does UK data protection law offer an effective and balanced protection for peoples' personal data?’
